Stanley Park and the Weekend

This weekend has been crazy busy so I apologize for not posting or surfing your blogs! My mother and I had tickets to this HUGE scrapbooking weekend at the local Casino. It was put on by a local store and they had reps from a few different companies come out and host classes. It was incredible.. I learned new things, made lots of neat pages, cards, and projects. And!! I got free stuff!! I love free stuff especially when it is expensive free stuff! Haha
It was all Friday evening and then all of Saturday and Sunday.. so the poor puggies didn't get much mommy time until Monday.

So we decided to go to Stanley Park. Shane (my hubby) is home right now and it was gorgeous yesterday so we drove to Vancouver to take Gus and Indy out for a good long walk. Part of the seawall had a lot of wind.. from the front Indy looked like a french bulldog with her ears straight up!
We went about a 1/3 (I think) around the sea wall before we veered off through the park to make our way back (2 hours at that point). There was a little creek that ran near the path we had chosen and while stopping for a quick rest and wilderness photo shoot, we managed to get one of Gus watching the water.
Here we are later on.. all of us were super tired at this point and had stopped to enjoy the tulip garden and relax in the sun.
Gus drinking his water... he has watched Indy to see how she drinks (very ladylike from the bottle, barely spills a drop) so he tried to do the same. You can see his tongue in the bottle.
And Indy likes to drink the water spilling out from Gus drinking. They mostly walked well for us which made the walk even better! And we saw another pug on the seawall, he was super cute and everyone who walked by laughed at our mini pug meetup.

We hope everyone had a great weekend!

Dog Tired

After all that play time with Roxi the last few days, I have zombie pugs! They have been so tired that Gus has fallen asleep several times standing up and the last morning Roxi was here they chased each other around the backyard walking.

What I think is funny is the way they both sleep. Gus just kind of flops down and spreads out, if he gets to hot he flops himself to another spot. Indy curls up and tucks her face in. If she is really tired, her nose is covered up but she doesn't move.

So it will be a few days before they can catch up on all their sleep.. so I am stuck with little zombies!

Walking

Indy has gained a bit of weight this winter (haven't we all??) but it is most noticeable now on our walks. Halfway through she is getting tired and starting to lag.
One of her tells is the ears. See how they are up high right now? When she is getting tired, the ears go up, like little wings.

Fact:

It's hard to drag mommy down the street when the leash is around your front leg...
(and yes I left it there for a good 10 minutes!)

Easter Weekend

This weekend I didn't do much. I had 4 days off and I don't think I really did much of anything! I read a few books, watched some cheesy movies and played with the pugs. And I finished my science world scrapbook.. well it isn't a book yet, just a bunch of pages.
We did go to grandma's for dinner on Sunday. Everyone was away this weekend so it was just me, my brother and grandma. It was nice and low key. If you can't tell.. she does feed the pugs so everywhere she went.. so did they!

Hope everyone had an awesome Easter!!

Squeaky Ball

video

The weather the last few days has been incredible, warm and sunny and dry! I gave them a squeaky ball on Saturday and Gus grabbed it first. If you turn the volume up you can hear him squeaking it and Indy snarling at him.
They have played this game since we brought Gus home - him squeaking the ball, her jumping all over him.

Gus has a ball

Gus got a new toy this weekend, one of those cool stretchy rubber balls but he didn't really like it at first. We would roll it and he would chase it, then stop. Gus didn't quite know how to pick it up.
I was kind of disappointed that he didn't like it right away like how Merry loves her ball.
So we put a smaller ball in the big ball and now he LOVES IT! So does Indy for that matter.

Happy to See You

When we get home Gus and Indy are always happy to see us but Gus likes to pick up shoes and wiggle around the living room!
Silly pug!

Our New Friend

Meet Roxy! She belongs to our new roommate, Roxy is a pitbull staffordshire cross and she is only a year and a half. She and Gus get along so well, it is awesome. The pugs are dead to the world right now after having ran around all day with Roxy.
Indy likes her as well but she is a little more reserved about wrestling with Roxy since Gus always there hopping around. However Roxy shows deference for Indy and it's really rather sweet.
To get Indy to play, Roxy will come over and gently touch Indy with her nose - she will poke at Indy at the legs, at her ear, and on her side. After awhile Indy will jump at her and Roxy will hop back and forth trying to get her to play.

Where as with Gus, she acts like a parrot! Gus is quick to jump up and start playing with Roxy, he loves to rough house and wrestle with her. It helps he is closer in her size then Indy is.
Roxy won't be living here but visiting every now and again which is even better since 3 dogs at one time is a lot!
