Happy Birthday Indy!!

Indy turned 3 years old today! (June 30th). She was the hubby and my belated wedding gift to ourselves. We did a good job in picking her out, if I do say so myself!
She is a funny and special little pug, tiny tiny compared to most that I have seen and met. When we got her at 3 months old, she was 2.3lbs and had big floppy ears.

Sorry for the quality, but I don't seem to have any digital pictures of her as a puppy, only photographs.
She is a feisty little thing, very vocal in letting us or Gus know what is going on.

She has always been good in the car, the above picture is when we were camping, she is a city dog...

She gets a bit cranky with us when we take her camping.... but we love the attitude.

She hates clothes but tolerates her little red sweater, my grandmother knit it for her dog, but it was too small for him. To Indy it usually means a snow day!
She really loves her mommy, I gets lots of hugs and cuddles and kisses... but boy oh boy does Indy LOVE her daddy! She loves to flirt with him, big stretches, tail wagging and eye batting for him when he gets home.

Here she is with our other kitty, Galore. They are great friends, chasing each other up down the hallways and Galore always has lots of snuggles for Indy.

She is very ticklish too... she loves to have her belly rubbed, but her chest is very ticklish as are her feet!

She loves to go to ball and just race around the fields, there are has been a few times where she has escaped onto the field while they are playing and wouldn't come back out... no one could catch her either!

She is my baby girl, my poopers. Happy Birthday!!

Heat Wave

~We're having a heat wave.. a tropical heat wave!~
It has been gorgeous and sunny and HOT the last few days. Its been great, we set up the puggy pool, finished the rest of the landscaping and set up our patio properly!
It has been in the mid 30's easily here in sunny, beautiful, melting Vancouver! Finally! Now everyone is complaining about the heat instead of the rain. Haha go figure.. oh well

Misfit has spent his time exploring the backyard, we had to put a bell on him cause at night he somewhat disappears.

Indy has found her favorite spot under the trees... I don't know if you remember earlier pictures of Indy up here.. but it is all clean now! 9 bags of yard waste and 12 of bundles of tree branches plus a lot of work!!

We saw the movie Wanted today with Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman. Really good to watch if you feel like a good shoot 'em up flick.

Oh this last picture is for Nevis... all my scrap booking stuff... the one pile anyways, the large stand up organizer is clothes and odds and ends. :)

PS: The spacing on this is driving me nuts!! Sorry I couldn't fix it!

Yay!!

We are super excited over here as Indy has won herself a pretty homemade dress from Punchbugpug over at Pug Possessed !! The funny thing is I went to Walmart today and bought Indy a little purple sundress!! I am sure after looking at the pictures that it will be nothing compared to what we won!

This week I am off on Vacation.. not sure if I will be going anywhere yet. The hubby is home tomorrow morning and I have strict orders to be at the airport about half an hour before the plane arrives as the last few time I picked him up late.. but nothing compared to how late he was picking me up at Gold River!!

We are having a HUGE BBQ next Saturday so I am currently in the middle of finishing the rooms in the house.. the messy spare room now has a bed set up and the boxes unpacked or put in storage! I am finishing up our bedroom and the bathroom! Then we attack the outdoors! I will show some before and after pictures to show you what I am battling!

Here is Indy in her little purple dress!! Isn't she cute??

And Gus with his ball... please ignore the fact he is on the couch with the toy.. it was quickly rectified!!

She is very excited and would like to thank all her fans.. especially V for cheering her on from the sidelines, V is very jealous that she cannot enter.. but since she isn't a dog.....

Indy would also like to thank her babies... Turtle, Wuuf, Octy, Squishie Monkey, and all the rest for helping Indy be cute!

Yay Indy and a big Congratulations to all the other contestants!!

The Pug Jungle

This weekend we played in the backyard, fun in the sun!! It was nice and warm, we played and ran in the background. They fought over the little green balls..
They laid in the sun....
It was a good day until Sunday morning.. when Indy decided to take a walk without me., she was able to get out underneath the fence.. i spent half an hour going up and down the street calling her name, talking to neighbors... I had almost given up hope and then she pops out of the bushes across the street!! I am so glad she is safe but she gave me such a HUGE scare!!

CopyCat

Guess who Gus is copy catting? Roxy! He has been on the table twice this weekend! But he can get off too. Probably just jumps straight off.

Unfortunately my lunch bag has been on the table too. He has eaten cookies, a granola bar, a chocolate bar, a huge bag dog biscuits and various other tidbits that end up in one's lunch bag.

He used the cat tree to get up, very smart boy he is. We are at wits end with what to do with him, doggy daycare is out since it is very expensive. The hubby doesn't like the idea of kenneling and we can't baby gate him anywhere cause he can jump! Ahh!
I think we will end up in more puppy classes hopefully it will help his socialization!

Gold River

Gold River was absolutely beautiful however there was absolutely nothing there. Nothing. Except for nature. (heehee that sounds so corny!)
It was an hour long flight from Vancouver to Campbell River, we had a 10 minute (no lie!) layover in Comox, my plane was a 18 seater.
You can't really see it, but the Gold River on the sign looks like gold. :)
The Village it self was very small, a grocery store, coffee place, 2 liquor stores and a hand full of cafes. But the views... it is in a valley in the middle of the Pacific Rim Rain forest and the middle of Strathcona Provincial Park.
There were deer everywhere and I lucked out to see 6 black bears! Although I think it was the same 3 over again. The good thing was they were really nervous around the cars, except for this guy, he found a banana.
The hubby's work site was at the end of a lake, Buttle Lake, that took an hour to get too on a narrow twisty road, but wow was it beautiful! Most of the pictures I took were when we were driving it.

Those black things are tree stumps, the lakes are all interconnected as the main one is damned by BC Hydro, so they went back and cut the trees down so they could use the wood instead of letting it rot in the water.

I basically did nothing for the weekend except drive and relax. I never did get to see Milo and Otis either...

See BC isn't that bad... the border guards that Jemima and her mom dealt with were actually Americans. :( They do it to us all the time, especially when we tell them we are only going down for Krispie Kreme's or Jack in the Box. Haha

Softball Pugs

So I am back.. had a wonderful weekend and was snubbed by Indy when I got home, she doesn't like when I go away. I will post about my trip later on.

We took the pugs to softball last week, Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday the other team had 2 pugs too!! Bruiser, who was a bit shorter then Gus but a lot thicker and solid and very very dark. The female was almost white, she was short and fat! :) They had a blast after the game, racing around the field, I was really happy that Gus was very playful and well behaved!

I also bought some new treats, bully whips. They are essentially dried bull penises. They are supposed to be really healthy as they are all natural with nothing added. So the hubby went out and bought a bag for the dogs to have at softball.. turns out they were imitation! Who makes imitation bull doohickies???? Seriously?? I was ticked! Why even call them that if they aren't? The dogs sure liked them though!Unfortunately there are no pictures of the other two puggies. The second game, Indy got bored at ball and she was really vocal, talking to the players that walked by without acknowledging her. Gus just stared at everyone but wasn't interested in being pet at all.
