Bloggy Award and a Meme

I have been somewhat remiss on posting my award from Puddleglum and since Rachel just gave me a meme, I thought I might as well put them together!

Thanks Puddleglum for the Goldcard.. I am ready to do some shopping!! :)

Here is what I need to do with it:

1.Only five people allowed.
2.Four have to be dedicated followers of your blog
3.One has to be someone new or recently new to your blog and live in another part of the world.
4.You must link back to whoever gave you the award

So - I give this award to Norman, Nevis, Roxy & Lucky, Gucci and Eduardo! He is our new (and so far only) Puggle friend and he lives in Georgia - which to me right here on the West Coast in Canada.. it is the other side of the world! lol

I am pretty sure a few of you have already gotten it!

My meme is the Adore le Pug that they started themselves! :)

1) How did you first learn about Pugs?
I am not sure, I knew of them and I loved the MIB movies (still haven't seen Milo and Otis) It was the hubby that knew all about pugs and wanted one cause they are so ugly they are cute!!

2) What made you get a Pug?
We had finally moved into an apartment that could have dogs and after 2 years of moaning about how much I missed my mom's dog (Licorice, a toy poodle that doesn't love anymore since I moved out) the hubby decided we should get one. He bought me books and magazines and I went online to research them. I knew all about every horrible disease and illness that they could possibly get before I knew if we had any breeders nearby (I almost changed my mind on the pug thing).

3) Most memorable moment with your Pug (s).
Our first camping trip with Indy, it got to be about 12 degrees at night and she was 3 months old, she spent every evening around the campfire in my jacket sleeping, I had a 2 lb pregnant belly for 3 evenings. And every morning she would pee in the tent even after she peed outside first! lol
The first time Indy gave me the pouty bottom lip, the first time she stuck her nose in the air because she was mad at me.. I could go on and on....
With Gus, it is every time we reach a new learning milestone. The first time he was in my bed but didn't pee, the first time he actually responded to his name, the first time I picked him up and he put his head on my shoulder to cuddle, the first time I could go to the bathroom and he wasn't surgically attached to my leg or outside the door crying...

4) What is the most important thing Pugs (or dogs) have taught you?
PATIENCE! lol and love. It is amazing how much love you feel for them. Fear when Indy was really sick one time and another when she took off.
Humor and joy since they are so silly. :) And that I seriously need to reconsider having children until all the animals in my house are trained.

5) Best Thing You Ever Did For Your Pugs….aside from loving them, keeping them healthy & happy, and giving them a great life.
I took Indy from a puppy broker that had a reputation of selling dogs that had parvo (thankfully she never did) and taught her that she could take as long she wanted to eat, no one else would steal her kibble. To this date she is the only pug I know that wouldn't always finish her food.. well until we got Gus that is! We also showed her that mini pumpkin gourds weren't going too attack her even if they were bigger then her.

We brought home Gus and kept him after many of our friends and family members were wondering why we still had him. We gave him love and understanding and he now realizes that a raised arm isn't going to hurt him and that when we raise our voices, it isn't always at him and that it's ok.

Plus we introduced them to cheese, nacho chips and beer.. 3 of their favorite things!

6) Post your answers on why you “Adore Le Pug” on your blog and link to the blog who tagged you (or their blog post).

I think they have the cutest things over there and I really want the pug car bed!!

7) Tag 5 or more other bloggers.

Anyone who hasn't done this, please go ahead!!

You are very welcome, Gus/Indy! I love hearing about life in the GreatWhiteNorth (eh)!

Don't worry, I'm just like you-- I don't inhale my food immediately. Dad still worries there's something wrong with me. I keep telling him that all those doggie magazines have me worried about my weight with their impossible figures and airbrushed pictures... Grrr....

Thank you for the award. What great answers to your meme. Lucky only got attention when she was fed so she is still a little food aggressive.

Hooray! Thanks for the award, too!

And my Rukia does the strangest thing with her food. She will take a mouthful of it back to her bed, eat it there, then go back for more. Only just recently will she eat at the bowl like Poley does.
